Ada Louise Reichmuth

Ada Louise Reichmuth passed away peacefully at the Russell Personal Care Home, Sept. 21, 1999 in the presence of family. She was 94 years old. Louise was born in Lucas, Iowa on July 12, 1905 to William and Alberta (Widener) Yont. When she was one year old the family emigrated to Canada. She was the second oldest of four children. In 1928, Louise was united in marriage with Anthony Leo (Tony) Reichmuth. From this union was born one son Norris (Sam). Louise and Tony owned and operated a general store in Marchwell, Sk. from 1928-1947. In 1950 they moved to Binscarth, Manitoba where they had purchased the hardware store. After Tony's death in 1967 Louise continued to operate the business with Sam and Valerie, until it was sold in 1973. While the business was demanding, Louise found time to sing and dance and play the piano. She also enjoyed the cottage at Clear Lake, Manitoba, her garden and playing bridge. She enjoyed her grandchildren and they loved spending time with her. She loved to bake and taught her granddaughter Jodi the simple pleasure of baking bread from scratch. A skill she still uses. Louise was predeceased by her parents, her husband Tony, her brother Henry in 1974, her brother Roy and sister-in-law Blanche in 1997 and brother-in-law Mac Murdoch. Memories of her life will be cherished by her son Norris (Sam), daughter-in-law Valerie and grandchildren Jodi (Jason) and Mark (Sarah). Also her sister Ida Murdoch, sister-in-law Eileen Yont, nieces and nephews. Funeral service was on Saturday September 28, 1999 from Braendle-Bruce Funeral Chapel, Russell, Manitoba with Reverand Dwight Rutherford officiating and Nelliene Leifer as the organist. Internment was at Marchwell Bethel Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ellis Yont, Stan Yont, Harry Graham, Gerry Werle, Adolf Klingenberg and Mark Reichmuth. Following the internment, a time of fellowship and celebration of Louise's life was held at the Russell Inn. Braendle-Bruce Funeral Service were in care of the arrangements and their professionalism and personal touch at this difficult time exceeded our expectations.
